Citroen India has launched the new Citroen eC3X electric hatchback in the Indian market. The updated model features revisions to its exterior and interior, additional convenience features, and an improved driving range. Customers can book the EV online or at dealerships, with deliveries expected to begin soon. The electric hatchback competes with the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet in India. Price and Variants
The 2026 Citroen eC3X is offered in three variants: Live, Live (O), and Shine, with prices starting from Rs 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs 1.74 lakh cheaper than its predecessor. Citroen also offers an optional Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, reducing the purchase price to Rs 6.29 lakh, with battery usage charged at Rs 2.26 per km. The 2026 Tata Tiago EV is available in three variants: Smart, Pure Plus, and Creative Plus, with prices ranging from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Motors also provides a BaaS programme, lowering the entry price to Rs 4.69 lakh, with an additional Rs 2.6 per km for battery usage.
Battery and Range
The 2026 eC3X continues with a 29.2kWh battery pack, offering a claimed MIDC-certified driving range of 325 km, an improvement of 79 km over the previous version. The electric motor produces 57 hp and 143 Nm, driving the front wheels. The EV accelerates from 0 to 60 kph in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 107 kph. It supports both AC and DC charging: a full charge from 10% to 100% takes 10.5 hours with an AC charger, while a DC fast charger can charge from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes. The 2026 Tiago EV offers two battery pack options: 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The 24kWh variant delivers 75 hp and 114 Nm, while the 19.2kWh version produces 61 hp and 110 Nm. The claimed MIDC range for the larger battery is 285 km (down from 293 km), and for the smaller battery, it is 226 km (up from 223 km). Tata claims real-world C75 range estimates of 205-215 km for the 24kWh version and 160-170 km for the 19.2kWh model. The updated Tiago EV offers 40% faster charging, adding up to 100 km of range in 18 minutes. It supports 30 kW DC fast charging, charging from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes, and standard AC chargers of 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW.

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV measures 3,802 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width, 1,537 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm, rides on 175/65 R15 tyres, and has a boot space of 242 litres. The 2026 Citroen eC3X measures 3,981 mm in length, 1,733 mm in width, 1,604 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,540 mm, rides on 195/65 R15 tyres, and offers a 315-litre boot. The eC3X is 179 mm longer, 56 mm wider, and 67 mm taller, with a 140 mm longer wheelbase and wider tyres.
