BMW F 450 GS vs Himalayan 450 vs KTM 390 Adventure: Full Comparison

The BMW F 450 GS has officially arrived in India, entering one of the most competitive segments in the motorcycle market. As BMW's most affordable adventure bike, it takes on the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure S. Here is a detailed comparison of their engine specifications and pricing.

Engine Specifications

The BMW F 450 GS stands out as the only model in this trio to feature a parallel-twin engine. It is powered by a 420 cc, liquid-cooled unit that produces 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. In contrast, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 uses a larger 452 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 40 hp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The KTM 390 Adventure S sits in between with a 398 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor generating 46 hp at 8,500 rpm and 39 Nm at 6,500 rpm. All three motorcycles come with a 6-speed gearbox.

Despite having a smaller displacement than the Royal Enfield, the BMW produces the highest power and torque figures among the three. The KTM is not far behind the baby GS in terms of performance.
