Thanjavur: SASTRA Deemed University celebrated its 42nd Annual Sports Day on Saturday, bringing together students, faculty, and sports enthusiasts. The event featured a range of athletic competitions and award ceremonies.
Individual Championship Winners
In athletics, individual championship titles were won by Vishalini S (I year BTech ECE) and Santhosh V S (II year BTech Chemical Engineering). Their outstanding performances earned them top honors in their respective categories.
Best Outgoing Sportsperson Awards
The Best Outgoing Sportsperson awards were presented to Kum Ruveena Prisca H (IV year BTech EIE) and Chi Ganesh Vardhan (IV year BTech CSE) in recognition of their significant contributions and achievements in sports during their time at the university.
The chief guest, international athlete V K Elakkiyadasan, gave away prizes to the winners and inspired the participants with his words of encouragement. The event highlighted the university's commitment to promoting sports and physical fitness among its students.
