Rowland's Family Time After Formula E Podium Success

Oliver Rowland Embraces Family Time During Formula E Break

Following his impressive podium finish at the Jeddah doubleheader, Season 11 Formula E World Champion Oliver Rowland is making the most of a well-deserved month-long break. The 33-year-old driver has shifted his focus from the racetrack to family life, with his wife, Lauren Rowland, providing delightful glimpses into their personal time via social media.

Quality Moments with Growing Family

Lauren Rowland recently took to her Instagram Stories to share two heartwarming pictures that capture Oliver's dedication as a father. One image shows Rowland seated at a restaurant with his three-month-old son, Hennie, comfortably resting on his lap. The Rowlands welcomed their baby boy in November last year, adding to their family that includes four-year-old daughter Harper.

The second picture features Harper attempting to ride a pedal bike, showcasing the normal childhood milestones that Rowland can now witness firsthand during his racing hiatus. This family-focused break comes at a perfect time for the champion driver, who has been balancing the demands of title defense with his growing parental responsibilities.

Just a day before these family photos surfaced, Rowland himself shared a glimpse of his wife Lauren going for a run in the park, highlighting the couple's active lifestyle and mutual support system. The Rowland family appears to be enjoying every moment of this racing intermission, with Oliver fully immersed in what he humorously refers to as "daddy duties."

Reflecting on a Strong Season Performance

While currently prioritizing family, Rowland's racing achievements this season remain noteworthy. The British driver is performing strongly in his Formula E title defense, currently holding third position in the Drivers' Standings with 49 points accumulated so far. He trails behind Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein and Mahindra Racing's Edoardo Mortara in the championship race.

Rowland has secured three podium finishes this season: a second place in Sao Paulo, third in Mexico City, and another third-place finish in the Round 5 race in Jeddah. His return to the podium in Jeddah brought particular relief after missing out in the previous two races in Miami and Round 4 in Jeddah.

Expressing his emotions after the Jeddah podium, Rowland revealed: "Yesterday I was pulling my hair out! The last two races I struggled quite a lot, I just had no pace. Last night we changed quite a lot of stuff, so I'm really pleased to be back on the podium. Thanks to my whole team, they stayed late last night and did a great job."

He elaborated on his race strategy, saying: "I just wanted to stay out of trouble. From third or fourth backward, it's quite dangerous with people coming around the outside, and honestly I could go slow at some points so I could control the pace and be comfortable with my target. Of course Antonio (Felix da Costa, the Round 5 winner) had a slight advantage and I wouldn't have beaten him today. I think with a slightly different strategy on my side with Attack Mode, I could have finished second, but anyway I'm still happy with third."

Looking Ahead to Madrid E-Prix

After this family interlude, Rowland will return to competitive action for the Madrid E-Prix scheduled for March 21. The break appears to be providing both physical rest and emotional rejuvenation for the champion driver, who will likely return to the circuit with renewed energy and focus.

This balance between high-stakes motorsport and family life demonstrates the multifaceted nature of modern racing professionals, who must navigate both professional pressures and personal commitments. Rowland's current break serves as a reminder that even world champions need downtime to recharge and connect with loved ones.
