Nico Muller Wins First Formula E Race at Berlin E-Prix

Nico Muller won his first Formula E race at the Berlin E-Prix on Saturday, celebrating the moment with his son joining him on the podium. The victory was especially significant as he clinched the win in the stylish 'Pink Pig' 99X Electric on his 69th attempt, making Porsche's 75th motorsport anniversary even more memorable.

Emotional Triumph for Muller

Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds called it the 'stuff of legends,' while Muller himself described it as an emotional triumph. Muller remained inside the top 10 until the pit stops, having started sixth, and pushed hard after emerging from the pit lane. Taking six minutes of Attack Mode, he sliced through the field to take the lead on Lap 29.

Sharing his happiness after winning Formula E Round 7, Muller said, 'It's an amazing day. I'm super grateful for the opportunity Porsche are giving me and for the trust they've shown. It's an honour to be racing in that car in front of the home crowd, and to get your first win right here in Berlin, on the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport, couldn't be much better. Having my family here - my sons, my wife, our daughter - I'm actually pretty emotional.'

'It's very well known that when you wear these colours and drive for Porsche in their works team, there is only one goal. We want to fight for those three championships until the finale in London, and one of these is the Drivers' Championship, so we're going to go all in on all three,' the number 51 driver added.

Jeff Dodds Hails Nico Muller for Berlin Win

Formula E boss Jeff Dodds penned a special post for Nico Muller following his victory. He wrote alongside a series of celebratory photos: '69 races in the making! Huge congrats to @nico.mueller51 on taking your first @fiaformulae win today in Berlin. To do it at Porsche's home race during their 75th anniversary celebrations is the stuff of legends. The 'Pink Pig' was flying today! Strategy, PIT BOOST, and pure grit on the Tempelhof concrete. The title race is well and truly ON.'

Thanking him in the comments, Muller replied, 'Thank you very much, boss.' His team-mate Pascal Wehrlein also shared an Instagram story, writing: 'Huge congratulations on your first win.'
