Jaguar TCS Racing Announces Rookie Test Lineup for Madrid Event
In a significant development for the Formula E championship, Jaguar TCS Racing has officially confirmed its participants for the upcoming Madrid Rookie Test. The team will field noted Japanese driver Juju Noda and American racer Bryce Aron, providing both with valuable experience on the new Circuito del Jarama circuit.
Meet the Rookies: Juju Noda and Bryce Aron
Juju Noda, the 20-year-old Japanese sensation, made history as the first Japanese woman to compete in Super Formula. She previously debuted in Formula E during the 2025 Women's Test in Valencia and now prepares to gain further experience with the advanced GEN3 Evo car. "I'm very grateful to Jaguar TCS Racing for giving me this opportunity," Noda told FormulaE.com. "Testing the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 in Valencia last year was a fantastic experience, and the support and feedback from the team helped me grow a lot as a driver. To now take part in the official Rookie Test in Madrid is a big moment for me, and I'm excited to learn as much as I can and show what I'm capable of."
Bryce Aron, a 22-year-old American talent, will make his Formula E debut at the Madrid Rookie Test. Though new to Formula E, Aron brings racing pedigree with two podium finishes in the competitive Indy NXT Series. "I'm really looking forward to joining Jaguar TCS Racing for the Rookie Test in Madrid," Aron stated. "With Formula E being a professional World Championship, I'm excited to have the chance to work with a team performing at such a high level. It's a huge opportunity for me. I will be looking to learn as much as possible from the engineers and drivers, and make the most of every lap."
Special Significance of Madrid E-Prix for Jaguar TCS Racing
The Madrid E-Prix holds particular importance for Jaguar TCS Racing as it marks driver Antonio Felix da Costa's 150th race start in the championship. Team Principal Ian James expressed enthusiasm about this milestone and the team's recent performance. "Over the past few races, the team has shown pace and resilience and turned that into strong results," James said. "That means that Madrid, which also marks Antonio's 150th start in the championship, has the potential to be a particularly exciting moment in the season. We're determined to continue building on the foundations we've laid."
Regarding the rookie drivers, James added, "We're also proud to be supporting the next generation of racing talent with both Juju and Bryce, who have already demonstrated exceptional ability and professionalism in their careers. This Rookie Test gives them a valuable opportunity, and we're looking forward to welcoming them to Circuito del Jarama and seeing how they take on this next step."
Event Details and Schedule
The Madrid Rookie Test is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 22 March, one day after the Madrid E-Prix. This timing allows the rookies to benefit from the race weekend atmosphere while gaining crucial track time on the challenging Circuito del Jarama layout.
This announcement underscores Jaguar TCS Racing's commitment to developing young talent while maintaining competitive momentum in the Formula E championship. The team's dual focus on immediate race success and long-term driver development positions them as a formidable force in electric motorsport.
