International table tennis sensation Aishwin Kaur has further solidified her reputation as one of India's top para-athletes by winning gold at the 2026 National Deaf Sub-Junior and Junior Sports Table Tennis Championship. The event was held at the Chandigarh Sports Complex and organized by the All India Sports Council of the Deaf.

The Ludhiana-born star's victory is particularly remarkable given her personal journey. At just six years old, Aishwin Kaur was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD), a rare neurological disorder. Since first picking up a table tennis paddle in 2016, Kaur has experienced a meteoric rise from local talent to global competitor. Her father, Bikramjit Singh, emphasized that her unwavering dedication has enabled her to overcome traditional barriers and reach the international stage.
"Her objective is to continue representing India at elite events, specifically targeting the World Championships and the Deaflympics," Singh stated.

Kaur is currently undergoing rigorous training in Gurugram to refine her skills for upcoming international competitions. Her preparation focuses on enhancing her technical abilities and strategic approach to the game.

Aishwin Kaur has already established herself on the world stage, having competed against international athletes in Malaysia, Japan, and Taiwan. She received the distinguished honor of serving as India's flag bearer during the closing ceremony of the 2023 World Deaf Championship in Taiwan.
Notably, her talent extends beyond para-sports. In 2023, she demonstrated her versatility by winning the Ludhiana District Championship in the general category, competing successfully against able-bodied athletes.
