Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his administration's commitment to addressing public concerns during a Janata Darshan event held at the historic Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur on Thursday. The Chief Minister personally interacted with approximately 150 petitioners who had gathered from various districts, listening attentively to their problems and issuing immediate directives to officials for resolution.
Directive for Sensitive and Time-Bound Action
During the public hearing, CM Yogi Adityanath patiently listened to a wide range of complaints. He instructed the concerned officials to ensure a fair, sensitive, and time-bound disposal of all issues raised by the citizens. The Chief Minister emphasized that the benefits of government welfare schemes and justice must reach every eligible person without any form of discrimination.
Walking among the petitioners seated in the Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan, Yogi Adityanath personally reviewed applications. These documents covered diverse problems including:
- Revenue and land dispute cases
- Law and order concerns
- Issues related to land encroachment
- Access to various government welfare schemes
The Chief Minister took a stern stance against powerful offenders, ordering strict action against the land mafia and other influential persons involved in illegal activities. He assured the victims present that the state government stands firmly with them in their pursuit of justice.
Assurance on Healthcare and Temple Activities
Addressing several petitioners who sought financial help for critical medical treatments, CM Yogi gave a significant assurance. He stated that treatment would not be denied to anyone due to a lack of funds. He directed officials to immediately prepare cost estimates for the advanced treatment required by needy patients, promising that funds would be released promptly once the estimates were submitted.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister began his visit by offering prayers at the Gorakhnath Temple. He paid homage to the statue of his guru, the late Mahant Avaidyanath. His visit also included performing gau seva (cow service) at the temple cowshed, where he fed jaggery to the cattle. CM Yogi also interacted warmly with children who were visiting the temple with their families, adding a personal touch to the official visit.
Financial Aid for Journalist's Family
In a separate humanitarian gesture, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh from his discretionary fund for the family of late journalist and theatre artist Vivek Asthana. Asthana had passed away due to a cardiac arrest on January 5.
Meeting the journalist's wife and two children at the temple, the CM offered his condolences and assured them of all possible support from the government. This assistance was sanctioned within a remarkable 19 hours of a formal request being made by the Gorakhpur Journalists Press Club, demonstrating swift administrative action.
The Janata Darshan in Gorakhpur underscores the state government's ongoing efforts to maintain a direct channel of communication with the public and address their grievances at the highest level, ensuring governance remains responsive and accountable.
