Wedding Poster Ploy Fails, Police Seize 252 Kg Poppy Husk

In a bid to avoid police scrutiny, drug traffickers allegedly employed a wedding poster on their vehicle to smuggle narcotics. However, the ruse was uncovered when law enforcement officials seized approximately 252 kilograms of doda, or poppy husk, from an SUV on the Lawalong-Bagra Road in the Lawalong block on Sunday.

Police Operation Based on Tip-Off

Acting on a specific intelligence report that a vehicle transporting a substantial consignment of doda would traverse the route, a police team under the leadership of Simaria Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nagaragojey Shubham Bhau Saheb initiated a checking drive. During the operation, a speeding SUV approaching from the Lawalong direction was signaled to stop.

Driver Flees After Abandoning Vehicle

Upon noticing the police presence, the driver panicked and veered the SUV toward a forested area near Char Fedi Mahua. The accused then abandoned the vehicle and escaped into the dense forest along with his accomplices.
