The written examination for the recruitment of 4,543 sub-inspector (civil police) and equivalent posts under the direct recruitment process concluded successfully on Sunday. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) reported a significant turnout of 5,45,721 candidates on the final day of the two-day examination process.
Overall Attendance and Registration Details
Across the four shifts conducted over the two-day examination period, out of a total of 15,75,760 registered candidates, at least 10,77,403 candidates appeared for the crucial recruitment test. The overall attendance rate for the comprehensive two-day examination stood at an impressive 68.4%, indicating that more than two-thirds of all registered candidates participated in the selection process.
The examination was conducted with meticulous planning across 1,090 centers spanning all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. In Meerut district, a case was registered at the Lalkurti police station after investigators discovered that a candidate had allegedly manipulated the date of birth on both their Aadhaar card and admit card. The individual used these forged documents to appear for the examination, violating multiple regulations governing the recruitment process.
In Varanasi, examination officials detected serious irregularities at the Sanatan Dharma Inter College examination center located on Nai Sadak. During the mandatory Aadhaar authentication process (e-KYC), authorities discovered that a candidate had previously appeared in another examination using a completely different name and address, raising questions about identity fraud.
Another concerning case emerged from Budaun district, where a candidate appearing at the Singler Girls Inter College examination center was found using an Aadhaar card with both the name and date of birth altered. This deliberate attempt to misrepresent identity prompted immediate legal action from examination authorities.
Administrative Oversight and Future Actions
Officials confirmed that strict vigilance was maintained throughout the examination period to prevent any form of malpractice. The UPPRPB has made it clear that legal action will be taken against anyone found attempting to compromise the integrity of the recruitment process, with the three registered cases serving as a strong deterrent against future violations.
In Prayagraj, a high-level team led by District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma conducted surprise inspections at multiple examination centers including Agrasen Inter College and Government Girls Inter College. The inspection team issued necessary guidelines to center administrators and examined the CCTV control rooms established at examination venues.
The District Magistrate personally inspected the ongoing monitoring conducted through surveillance cameras, emphasizing the importance of technological oversight in maintaining examination integrity.
