Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday declared that his government has dealt firmly with miscreants, asserting that those who did not mend their ways through 'boli' (words) were compelled to do so through the 'goli' (bullets). The statement came after he launched and laid the foundation for 278 development projects valued at over Rs 424 crore in Kushinagar.
Contrasting Past and Present
Addressing a gathering, the Chief Minister contrasted the state's past image with what he described as its present transformation under the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted the state government's zero tolerance policy against crime and mafia networks.
"The previous governments had made Uttar Pradesh known for 'katta' (country-made pistols) and bombs," Yogi said. "Today, the same Uttar Pradesh is manufacturing BrahMos missiles for the country's security."
Warning to Anti-Social Elements
Referring to criminals and anti-social elements, the Chief Minister stated, "We have set these 'shohde' (miscreants) right. Those who did not improve, those who did not listen to words, ultimately listened to bullets."
He alleged that previous administrations had failed to ensure public safety and allowed criminal activities to flourish, adversely affecting traders, farmers, and women. Without naming any political party, he referred to the government before 2017 as the "jungle party."
"There was terror of the 'jungle party' and mafia ruled the roost," he said.
Development Projects Launched
The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 278 development projects worth over Rs 424 crore in Kushinagar district. These projects aim to boost infrastructure, healthcare, education, and other key sectors in the region.
Yogi emphasized that his government is committed to the holistic development of Uttar Pradesh, ensuring safety and prosperity for all citizens.
