Swati Khandoker of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) secured a decisive victory in the Chanditala constituency during the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Election. She garnered 1,07,143 votes, defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Debasish Mukherjee by a margin of 19,663 votes. Mukherjee obtained 87,480 votes in the contest.

The third position went to CPI(M)'s Asif Ali, who received 25,438 votes, while Congress candidate Abu Abbas Uddin Sk finished fourth with 2,458 votes. A total of eight candidates contested from Chanditala, including Debashish Mukherjee (Independent), Md Abul Hasan Gayen (Aam Janata Unnayan Party), Sumit Mukherjee (Independent), and Sekh Firoj (Independent). The NOTA option recorded 1,451 votes.

Chanditala (constituency no. 194) is located in Hooghly district and falls under the Sreerampur Lok Sabha constituency. It spans both Chanditala I and Chanditala II community development blocks. The area is predominantly rural with semi-urban pockets and is known for its agricultural activity. In the 2021 Assembly Election, TMC's Swati Khandoker won the seat, defeating BJP's Yash Dasgupta by a comfortable margin. The TMC also held the seat in 2016.
