Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin Questions Dignity of Prime Minister's Office
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has launched a scathing critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, directly questioning the dignity and grace of the Prime Minister's high office. Speaking at a vibrant public meeting in Tirupattur, where he was campaigning for INDIA bloc candidates, Stalin accused the Prime Minister of targeting Tamil Nadu with what he called "unverified data" and baseless allegations.
Stalin's Blunt Challenge to Prime Minister Modi
Responding to Prime Minister Modi's recent social media post that criticized the DMK's administration, Stalin was remarkably blunt in his assessment. "Should a person in the high office of Prime Minister speak against a state without reading the data? Is this graceful for the post he holds?" Stalin asked the gathered crowd, highlighting what he perceives as a breach of protocol and dignity.
The Chief Minister challenged the Prime Minister to examine the Union government's own economic survey and observations from respected international bodies like the United Nations before making any allegations against Tamil Nadu's governance. "We wouldn't care if a BJP member speaks like this," Stalin clarified. "But the Prime Minister belongs to all states. Do not weigh Tamil Nadu down based on a few 'slaves' who bow before you in Delhi."
Parliament Session Termed "Fascist Conspiracy"
Stalin took particular issue with the Parliament's special session on constituency delimitation, which he described as nothing less than a "fascist conspiracy" designed to punish states that have successfully implemented population control measures. The Chief Minister revealed that he has directed all DMK Members of Parliament to immediately travel to Delhi to fight against this perceived injustice.
"If you pass this against our will, you will see a different face of the DMK," Stalin warned with determination. He framed the issue in deeply personal terms for Tamil Nadu, stating: "State rights are like the 'veshti' (garment) we wear; it is our life's core principle. We will not allow Tamil Nadu's voice to be stifled."
DMK Positioned as Tamil Nadu's Shield
Throughout his address, Stalin positioned the DMK as the essential protective shield against what he characterized as the "mortgaging of Tamil Nadu to Delhi." He expressed confidence in the public's perception of the upcoming 2026 assembly elections, which he said people view as a "Thanksgiving festival" for the successes achieved under the Dravidian Model of governance.
Looking toward the future, Stalin made a bold promise to the people of Tamil Nadu: "We will break our own records in the 2.0 government. This is Stalin's guarantee." This declaration underscored his commitment to building upon the achievements of his administration while defending Tamil Nadu's interests against what he perceives as central government overreach.
The Chief Minister's remarks reflect growing tensions between the Tamil Nadu state government and the central administration, with Stalin framing the conflict as a fundamental question of state rights, dignity in political discourse, and the proper use of data in governance critiques.
