The DMK has to work with speed and vigour to become the ruling party again, and the present party meeting was a tool. DMK chief MK Stalin launched a scathing attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, accusing him of going on a shopping spree to poach AIADMK MLAs. Stalin alleged that Vijay is acting like the BJP, using money and power to destabilise the opposition.
Stalin's allegations against CM Vijay
Speaking at a party meeting, Stalin said, 'CM Vijay is on a shopping spree targeting AIADMK MLAs. He acts like BJP, trying to buy MLAs and weaken the opposition. This is not democratic politics but a dangerous game.' Stalin urged DMK workers to remain vigilant and work hard to bring the party back to power.
DMK's strategy for comeback
The DMK chief emphasised that the party must accelerate its efforts to regain the trust of the people. 'We need to work with speed and vigour. The present party meeting is a tool to strategise our comeback,' he added. Stalin's remarks come amid reports of several AIADMK MLAs being in touch with the ruling party.
The AIADMK, which is the main opposition in Tamil Nadu, has been facing internal turmoil. Many MLAs are reportedly dissatisfied with the party leadership. Stalin's allegations suggest that the ruling TVK party, led by Vijay, is exploiting this situation to expand its base.
Political reactions
Reacting to Stalin's statement, a senior AIADMK leader said, 'We are aware of the attempts to poach our MLAs. The party will take strict action against anyone who tries to destabilise us.' Meanwhile, the BJP denied any involvement, calling Stalin's allegations baseless.
The political landscape in Tamil Nadu is heating up ahead of the next assembly elections. With the DMK trying to regain its lost ground and the ruling TVK consolidating power, the battle for the state is intensifying.
