Samajwadi Party Commemorates Dr. Ambedkar's 135th Birth Anniversary with Widespread Events in Prayagraj

The Samajwadi Party (SP) orchestrated a comprehensive series of events throughout Prayagraj to honor the 135th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Party leaders and workers gathered at multiple locations, paying floral tributes and homage, most notably at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar situated near the High Court Crossing. This initiative aimed to celebrate the legacy of the architect of the Indian Constitution and reinforce the party's commitment to his principles.

Emphasis on Constitutional Values and Democratic Framework

During the commemorations, party MLC Mansingh Yadav delivered a poignant address, highlighting the enduring significance of Dr. Ambedkar's contributions. "The Indian Constitution drafted by Ambedkar remains the cornerstone of the country’s democratic framework to this day," Yadav stated. He further emphasized, "It is the collective responsibility of all citizens to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution—namely, equality, liberty, and fraternity." This message resonated across the events, underscoring the SP's dedication to these foundational ideals.

Pledges for Social Justice and Future Governance

SP leaders articulated a vision for the future, asserting that if the party forms the government in the state in 2027 under the leadership of party president Akhilesh Yadav, concerted efforts will be made to uplift the weaker sections of society. These efforts are planned to focus on critical areas such as education, employment, and social security, aiming to translate Ambedkar's vision into actionable policies.

SP spokesperson Dan Bahadur Madhur provided details on the scale of the celebrations, noting that party workers organized various events at over 500 locations across all assembly constituencies of the district. These gatherings involved extensive discussions regarding Babasaheb's struggles, thoughts, and principles, with participants pledging to establish a regime of social justice. Madhur explained, "Our workers engaged in deep conversations about Ambedkar's legacy, reinforcing our commitment to fighting for the rights of marginalized communities."

Statue Installations and Administrative Hurdles

In a related development, preparations had been made to install statues of Dr. Ambedkar in Belwariya and Pacheda within the Koraon Assembly constituency. However, the local administration denied permission for these installations, citing issues regarding the land designated for the sites. This decision sparked discussions about bureaucratic challenges in commemorating historical figures.

Despite this setback, the party successfully installed a statue of Babasaheb at Dera Bari in the Bara Assembly constituency, symbolizing their ongoing dedication to honoring his memory. The installation served as a focal point for further tributes and community engagement during the anniversary events.

The Samajwadi Party's activities in Prayagraj not only celebrated Dr. Ambedkar's birth anniversary but also positioned the party as a champion of constitutional values and social justice, setting the stage for future political initiatives aimed at empowering disadvantaged groups.
