NTK Chief Coordinator Seeman Alleges DMK Copied His Election Manifesto Ideas
In a fiery public address in Sulur, Coimbatore, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman launched a scathing attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government. He made the sensational allegation that the DMK has incorporated his own political ideas directly into its official election manifesto. This claim adds a new layer of controversy to the already heated political climate in Tamil Nadu.
Strong Critique on Women's Safety and Government Policies
Seeman presented a grim picture of the state's security situation, asserting that women and girls across Tamil Nadu are living in constant fear. "From two-year-old infants to elderly women aged 80, no one is safe from harassment and violence under this administration," he declared. He directly linked the state's liquor sales policy to the rise in violent crimes, including rape and murder.
"The DMK government loudly proclaims it is protecting women, yet it actively promotes the sale of alcohol, which is a primary driver behind these horrific acts against women," Seeman argued. He issued a stern warning, promising that if the NTK achieves power, it will impose the most severe and unforgiving punishments on individuals convicted of raping or murdering women.
Highlighting Public Discontent and Criticizing Rivals
The NTK leader pointed to widespread public dissatisfaction as evidence of the government's failures. He noted that professionals from every sector, including farmers and doctors, have been forced to take their grievances to the streets in protest. Seeman also took aim at political rival Thamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and its leader, actor Vijay.
He dismissed Vijay's announcement of a ₹2,500 financial assistance scheme for women as mere political theater. "The political competition in Tamil Nadu has been reduced to a shallow contest of who can offer more freebies. The DMK and TVK are now engaged in this empty game, neglecting real governance," Seeman criticized.
Warnings on Environmental Crisis and Vision for the Future
Seeman raised alarm over a severe environmental and resource crisis unfolding in the state. He highlighted the dangerous decline in groundwater levels, which has already sparked protests over water scarcity in several regions. "If this neglect continues for just a few more years, Tamil Nadu will witness a powerful new people's revolution," he warned.
Outlining his party's vision, Seeman made several key promises for an NTK-led government. These include a major initiative to restore polluted rivers, with specific mention of the Noyyal River in Coimbatore. He also pledged to provide free, high-quality education and comprehensive medical treatment for all citizens.
Unveiling a New Symbolic Logo for Tamil Nadu
In a significant symbolic move, Seeman unveiled a proposed new official logo for the state of Tamil Nadu, which he stated would be adopted if the NTK comes to power. The design is rich with cultural and natural imagery:
- The revered Tamil saint and poet Thiruvalluvar
- The majestic tiger, a symbol of strength
- Cows, representing agriculture and sustenance
- Palm trees and paddy fields, denoting fertility and prosperity
- The Ashoka Chakra, reflecting national unity and pride
This comprehensive address positioned Seeman and the NTK as a formidable force challenging the status quo on issues of governance, safety, and environmental stewardship in Tamil Nadu.
