CHENNAI: With early counting trends showing a strong performance for Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar appealed to political parties to align with his son, suggesting they could regain lost political space through an alliance with TVK.
Chandrasekhar's Appeal to Political Parties
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Chandrasekhar said that parties like Congress which had weakened politically should consider joining hands with Vijay. "Ally with Vijay, he will give you the power you lost," he asserted.
Public Anger and Search for Alternative
Chandrasekhar noted that the overwhelming response for TVK reflected public anger against established parties and a search for an alternative political force. Referring to Vijay's political entry, he said people had accepted him beyond cinema and viewed him as a leader capable of bringing change.
He emphasized that Vijay had entered politics with "good intentions" and claimed that voters, particularly youngsters, had responded positively to the party's campaign and promises.
Election Trends and Analysis
The TVK has emerged as a formidable force in Tamil Nadu, pushing major parties like DMK and AIADMK to the margins. Meanwhile, in West Bengal, the BJP may oust Mamata Banerjee, while retaining Assam. The election results are being closely watched across the country.
