Rs 7 Crore Development Projects Launched in Panchkula Wards

In a significant push to upgrade local infrastructure, Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal on Monday inaugurated and reviewed a series of development projects across wards 19 and 20. The initiatives, with a combined worth of approximately Rs 7 crore, are aimed at enhancing both rural and urban amenities, with a sharp focus on improving road connectivity, drainage systems, power supply, sanitation, and waste management facilities.

Major Infrastructure Boost Across Key Sectors

The inauguration spree covered a wide array of projects designed for long-term public benefit. A key highlight is the completed Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Alipur, which is set to strengthen scientific solid waste management in the region. Furthermore, for better regulation and safety, the construction of a boundary wall for the Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste plant in Jalauli was also inspected.

To address waterlogging and improve sanitation, concrete drainage works in Jaswantgarh were inaugurated. In a major move for connectivity, the mayor launched a Rs 1.75 crore peripheral road project with integrated drainage in Alipur. Similarly, in Jalauli, a Rs 1.58 crore project for a peripheral road and drainage system was inaugurated to enhance both travel and public health conditions.

Focus on Ward-Specific Amenities and Utilities

In Ward 19 specifically, the development agenda is comprehensive. Major works include the construction and repair of roads and drains, upgrades to crematoriums and dharamshalas, and the establishment of sewage treatment plants (STPs). Significant improvements are also being made to the electricity supply to support these new facilities.

To ensure the smooth operation of sewage treatment, a 100 kW three-phase power connection is being provided to the STP in Billa. Additionally, a more powerful 160 kVA transformer is being installed at the Ramgarh STP, underscoring the municipal corporation's commitment to robust and reliable utility infrastructure.

Prioritizing Holistic and Sustainable Development

Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal emphasized that the development works across the municipal corporation area are being strategically prioritized. The goal is to create a lasting impact by enhancing core infrastructure like roads, drainage, and waste management systems. This holistic approach is expected to significantly improve the quality of life for residents and foster sustainable urban growth in Panchkula.

The inspection and inauguration of these projects mark a proactive step by the local administration to address civic needs and bridge the infrastructure gap in both newly developed and older wards, setting a precedent for focused developmental work in the region.
