Rajasthan Government Assures Commercial LPG Cylinder Supply Normalization Within 10 Days
Rajasthan: Commercial LPG Supply to Normalize in 7-10 Days

Rajasthan Government Announces Phased Normalization of Commercial LPG Cylinder Supply

The Rajasthan government has moved to address concerns over reported disruptions in commercial LPG cylinder availability, announcing on Sunday that supply will normalize in phases within the next seven to ten days. State officials have urged consumers to remain calm and avoid panic buying during this period.

Ministerial Discussions Yield Supply Assurance

State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara revealed that the improvement timeline follows a crucial telephonic conversation between Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. According to Godara, the Union minister has provided firm assurances regarding the restoration of commercial cylinder distribution.

The union government has principally agreed to maintain steady cylinder supply at all state-run and private educational institutions, hospitals, paying guest facilities, and Annapurna Rasoi kitchens starting Monday, Godara stated in his announcement to TOI.

Three-Phase Normalization Plan Unveiled

The government has outlined a structured three-phase approach to completely restore commercial LPG availability across Rajasthan:

  1. Phase One (Starting Monday): Priority restoration for educational institutions, hospitals, paying guest accommodations, and Annapurna Rasoi community kitchens
  2. Phase Two: Supply normalization for industrial establishments
  3. Phase Three: Complete restoration for hotels and restaurants

This phased approach aims to systematically address supply chain challenges while ensuring critical services receive immediate attention.

Domestic Cylinder Supply Remains Unaffected

Minister Godara emphasized that the supply issues are specifically limited to commercial cylinders, with domestic LPG and CNG for automobiles facing no significant disruptions in Rajasthan. The maximum waiting period for domestic LPG cylinders in the state currently stands at four days, he clarified.

To address consumer concerns, the state government has established helpline numbers across Rajasthan. Until now, we have not received a genuine complaint where any domestic consumer did not receive cylinders at home within four days after booking, Godara reported, suggesting that domestic supply chains are functioning adequately despite the commercial sector challenges.

Addressing CNG Station Queues and Political Criticism

The minister acknowledged complaints about queues at CNG filling stations but noted this situation predates the current commercial cylinder issues. A section of opposition is trying to malign the double engine government and unnecessarily triggering panic among common residents, Godara stated, referring to the BJP-led state and central governments.

He defended the administration's response to the supply challenges, emphasizing that the government is taking concrete steps through ministerial coordination to resolve the commercial cylinder distribution problems while maintaining essential domestic energy supplies for Rajasthan residents.
