Rajasthan Acts Against LPG Agencies for Slow Delivery, Conducts Raids

Rajasthan Government Takes Firm Stand on LPG Delivery Delays

The Rajasthan government announced on Monday that it will implement stringent measures against LPG agencies that do not deliver domestic gas cylinders to consumers' homes within three days of booking. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara emphasized that there is currently no shortage of domestic cylinders in the state, with supply adequately meeting demand.

Minister's Warning and Consumer Guidelines

Minister Godara stated, "Under such circumstances, the state government will take stern actions against agencies that fail to deliver gas cylinders via the OTP verification process or fail to deliver domestic gas cylinders within two to three days of booking." He further urged LPG consumers to complete any pending KYC (Know Your Customer) formalities to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.

Immediate Enforcement Actions in Jaipur

Following the announcement, a special enforcement team from the Jaipur Collectorate conducted an inspection of a gas agency on Monday afternoon. Agency operators were instructed to guarantee uninterrupted supply of domestic cylinders, address consumer complaints promptly, and prevent unnecessary queues at their premises. Officials confirmed that similar inspections were carried out in other districts across Rajasthan to ensure compliance.

Raids and Seizures to Curb Blackmarketing

In separate operations, the district supply office of the Jaipur Collectorate seized a total of 56 domestic and commercial gas cylinders, along with equipment including four electric motors, four weighing scales, and three regulators with rubber pipes, from various locations. First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against the accused individuals involved in blackmarketing LPG refills, highlighting the government's commitment to tackling illegal activities in the sector.

This crackdown aims to enhance service efficiency and protect consumer interests, ensuring that households receive their LPG supplies without undue delay or exploitation.
