BJP Leader Accuses AAP Government of Complete Failure
Sunil Jakhar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Punjab unit, has launched a severe criticism against the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government, accusing it of a complete failure in maintaining law and order. Jakhar stated that the state is witnessing a series of targeted killings that are part of a deliberate attempt to shatter Punjab's hard-earned communal harmony.
A Pattern of Targeted Killings
Jakhar made these remarks on Tuesday while visiting the family of RSS volunteer Naveen Arora in Ferozepur. Arora, who was just 32 years old and the son of senior RSS leader Baldev Raj Arora, was brutally murdered on Saturday evening. Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle shot him dead in a public space.
Drawing a connection to past incidents, Jakhar highlighted a disturbing pattern. He stated, "The murders of RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja, VHP’s Vikas Bagga, and now Naveen Arora have all been carried out in a similar pattern, which indicates a larger conspiracy aimed at spoiling Punjab’s communal harmony." He described the killing as an attack on the very spirit of "Punjabiat" and asserted that no true Punjabi would tolerate such actions.
Government's Silence and Broken Promises
The BJP leader expressed deep concern over the silence of the AAP government on this critical issue. He pointed out that despite the gravity of the situation, there has been no official reaction from the state administration. Jakhar emphasized that such elements must be stopped with an iron hand and the culprits given the strictest punishment.
He also reminded the public of a promise made by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. "A statement was issued by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on November 6 in Tarn Taran, in which he had promised to wipe out gangsters from Punjab within seven days. Much more than seven days have passed, but that promise has proved to be nothing more than an election gimmick," Jakhar stated, adding that Punjabis are now living in an atmosphere of fear and terror.
Criticizing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann directly, Jakhar alleged that the CM has "knelt before his party’s Delhi leadership," resulting in a loss of control over the state's administration. He concluded by saying that the senior AAP leadership is directly responsible for the deteriorating situation and that it would be better if they left Punjab, as its people are capable of taking care of their own land.
