Punjab BJP President Accuses AAP and Congress of Deliberate Alliance to Divert Public Attention
In a press conference held in Chandigarh on Thursday, Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, accusing them of deliberately working in alliance to divert people's attention from the real issues plaguing Punjab. Jakhar asserted that these parties are actively spreading misinformation against the Central government and the BJP within the state, a move he described as potentially extremely dangerous for Punjab's future, given its status as a border state.
Jakhar Questions Punjab CM on Agriculture Policy and Fund Utilization
Targeting Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Jakhar raised critical questions about the state government's inaction. He pointed out that the draft of the state's agriculture policy has been ready since October 2023, demanding to know what the chief minister is waiting for to implement it. This delay, according to Jakhar, highlights a failure to address pressing agricultural concerns that affect farmers across Punjab.
Furthermore, Jakhar highlighted a recent admission by the Punjab CM regarding disaster relief funds. He noted that after six months, the chief minister finally acknowledged that Rs 13,000 crore was received from the Centre for disaster relief. However, only Rs 477 crore was spent, with the rest allegedly misused by previous governments. Jakhar emphasized this as evidence of financial mismanagement and called for greater accountability in state governance.
Warning Against Spreading Hatred in a Border State
Jakhar issued a stern warning about the consequences of spreading hatred against the Central government in Punjab. He argued that such attempts could undermine stability and security in a sensitive border region, urging political parties to focus on constructive issues rather than divisive tactics. His remarks underscore the BJP's stance on maintaining national unity and addressing state-specific challenges through cooperative efforts.
This press conference comes amid ongoing political tensions in Punjab, with the BJP positioning itself as a critic of the ruling AAP and opposition Congress. Jakhar's allegations reflect broader national political dynamics, where accusations of alliance and misinformation are common strategies in electoral battles.
