PM Modi's Potential Visit to Tamil Nadu: Kanyakumari or Coimbatore on the Cards
In a significant political development, BJP Tamil Nadu state president Nainar Nagenthran announced on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's next visit to the state could be to either Kanyakumari or Coimbatore. While the exact dates are yet to be finalized, this visit would mark Modi's fourth trip to Tamil Nadu this year, following earlier rallies in Madurantakam, Madurai, and Trichy.
Campaign Plans and National Leaders' Involvement
Nagenthran elaborated on the BJP's campaign strategy, stating that several national leaders are set to participate in the state's political activities. Union minister Piyush Goyal, who serves as the BJP's in-charge for Tamil Nadu, will be actively campaigning, along with party president Nitin Nabin and other senior leaders. Additionally, leaders from allied parties, including Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, are expected to join the campaign efforts, highlighting a collaborative approach.
Dismissal of Alliance Seat Claims
Addressing recent claims by TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna that the party was offered 90 seats for an alliance, Nagenthran firmly denied any such discussions. He labeled these assertions as baseless, emphasizing that no formal talks of this nature have taken place, thereby clarifying the BJP's stance on alliance negotiations in Tamil Nadu.
Note: This announcement comes amid broader international news, including updates on the Israel-Iran conflict and Eid Al Fitr declarations in Gulf nations, but the focus here remains on domestic political developments in India.
