Patna Traffic Police Enforce Strict Measures for Swearing-In Ceremony

In preparation for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, the Patna traffic police have implemented extensive restrictions around Lok Bhavan and its surrounding areas. These measures aim to facilitate a seamless passage for invitees and VIPs while minimizing disruptions to the general public. Barricading has been strategically installed to control vehicular flow and ensure security during the event.

Detailed Route Closures and Public Access Guidelines

Sagar Kumar, the Traffic Superintendent of Police (SP), outlined specific routes that will be off-limits to the general public. These include the stretch from Patel Golambar on Airport Road, the road from the IPS senior officers’ mess on Bailey Road, and Desh Ratna Marg. Only vehicles carrying individuals with valid invitations issued by the district administration and police will be permitted on these designated paths.

For residents, vehicular restrictions will commence from Gate Number 2 of the Patna Zoo. Vehicles arriving from the airport can travel freely up to this point, but beyond it, movement towards Bailey Road and Rajendra Chowk will be prohibited for the public. Similarly, vehicles will not be allowed to proceed from the mess on Bailey Road towards Rajendra Chowk. Traffic on the road leading to the Eco Park side will continue to operate normally. Additionally, from BP Mandal Golambar on Circular Road, vehicles will be barred from advancing towards Rajendra Chowk.

Traffic Management and Surveillance Efforts

Airport-bound traffic is expected to remain largely unaffected for the general public. However, brief halts may occur at specific points during the movement of VIP motorcades to prevent prolonged inconvenience. The traffic police have deployed a robust team to manage the situation effectively.

  • Adequate officers and personnel have been stationed at major intersections and chowks within the VIP zone, including Rajendra Chowk, Lok Bhavan, CM House, BP Mandal Golambar, and Circular Road.
  • Surveillance will be enhanced through CCTV cameras under the Smart City project, with six mobile teams continuously patrolling the restricted zones to monitor compliance and security.

Kumar further elaborated, "Approximately 50 officers and around 100 traffic constables have been assigned duties for smooth traffic management. A comprehensive briefing for all officers was conducted on Tuesday to ensure preparedness."

Parking Arrangements for Invitees

To accommodate parking needs, specific areas have been designated for invitees. The road leading to Rajendra Chowk and Rajendra Golambar near Patna Zoo Gate Number 2 has been allocated for parking purposes. Invitees will be required to park their vehicles at assigned spots based on the passes issued to them, with adequate arrangements in place to manage the parking smoothly and avoid congestion.

These proactive measures by the Patna traffic police are designed to balance the ceremonial requirements with public convenience, ensuring a secure and orderly environment for the swearing-in event.
