CPI Protests in Patna Against US Alleged Attack on Venezuela, Trump Effigy Burnt
Patna CPI Protests US Action on Venezuela, Burns Trump Effigy

The Patna district council of the Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a significant demonstration on Saturday, voicing strong condemnation against the United States for its alleged military action against Venezuela. The protest specifically targeted what organizers called an attack ordered by President Donald Trump and the reported abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro along with his wife.

March Through Patna's Heart Culminates in Rally

The protest march commenced from the CPI's district office in Patna. It then wound its way through several densely populated neighborhoods, including Naya Tola, Machhua Toli, Langar Toli Chowraha, and Dariapur. The procession finally converged into a rally near Bhagat Singh Chowk, located close to the iconic Gandhi Maidan, drawing attention from local residents and passersby.

Symbolic Action and Strong Condemnation

In a powerful symbolic gesture, the protesters set fire to an effigy of US President Donald Trump. The gathering loudly demanded the immediate release of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. Speakers at the rally accused President Trump of harboring "imperial ambitions to control the world economy in favour of the US" and called for an end to such actions.

State-Wide Protests and Leadership Address

The Patna event was not an isolated incident. The state CPI unit has issued instructions to all its district committees across Bihar to organize similar protests, indicating a coordinated political response. The rally in Patna was addressed by senior party figures, including Ramlala Singh, a member of the state secretariat, and Patna district secretariat members Arjun Ram and Bhola Sharma.

The leaders elaborated on the party's stance against foreign intervention, framing the US action in Venezuela as a direct assault on the sovereignty of an independent nation. The protest underscores the CPI's continued focus on international issues and its alignment against American foreign policy under the Trump administration.
