Major Land Scam Investigation Transferred to Economic Offences Wing
In a significant development, the investigation into a high-profile land scam case involving government property in Pune's Bopodi area has been officially transferred to the Economic Offences Wing. The case involves Amadea Enterprises LLP, where Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son Parth Pawar is a partner, adding political significance to the ongoing probe.
FIR Details and Key Accused
The case originated when Pravina Borde, the sub-divisional officer for Pune sub-division, filed an FIR at Khadak police station early Friday morning. The complaint names nine individuals, including Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, the director of Amadea Enterprises LLP. According to the FIR, the alleged illegal activities occurred between February 12, 2024, and July 1, 2025.
The central allegation involves former Tehsildar Yewale, who is accused of misusing his official position while serving at the Mamledar Kacheri in Shukrawar Peth. The FIR claims Yewale conspired with other accused persons to issue an illegal order asserting their ownership over approximately 13 acres of government land in Bopodi that legally belongs to the agriculture department.
Additional Illegal Activities Uncovered
Investigators have uncovered further irregularities in the case documents. The FIR reveals that Yewale also illegally issued a letter on June 9, 2025, concerning the vacation of government land in the upscale Koregaon Park area. This development has prompted a separate investigation into what appears to be a broader pattern of land-related fraud.
In a related case, a distinct FIR was lodged at Bavdhan police station in Pimpri Chinchwad against Digvijay Patil, Sheetal Tejwani, and now-suspended sub-registrar Ravindra Taru. This separate complaint alleges fraudulent purchase of about 40 acres of prime land in Koregaon Park with a suspicious waiver of stamp duty amounting to Rs 5.89 crores.
Official Confirmation and Political Response
Commissioner of Pune police Amitesh Kumar has officially confirmed the transfer of the Bopodi land scam case to the Economic Offences Wing for deeper investigation. Police sources indicate they are thoroughly examining all documents related to the fraudulent land deal to establish the complete chain of events and identify all involved parties.
In a crucial development, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated on Friday that the agreement pertaining to this controversial land deal stands cancelled. This announcement came amid growing political scrutiny of the case and its connections to his son's business interests.
An officer from Pimpri Chinchwad police provided additional context, noting that while no money was exchanged in this particular land deal, the investigation into alleged irregularities continues. The Economic Offences Wing is expected to bring specialized expertise to unravel the complex financial and legal aspects of this case that spans multiple prime locations in Pune.
