Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accompanied by his deputy Samrat Choudhary, made a significant visit to a village in Bhojpur district on Saturday to offer condolences following a personal loss in a political family.
Senior Leaders Pay Floral Tributes
The visit was to Dulhinganj village in the Jagdishpur subdivision of Bhojpur district. The purpose was to attend a condolence meeting for Usha Singh, the wife of local Jagdishpur MLA Shri Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha. Usha Singh, noted for her work as a social worker, had passed away on December 27.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was joined by key figures from his party, the Janata Dal (United). JD(U) national working president Sanjay Jha and parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary were also present at the gathering. Together, the leaders paid their respects by offering floral tributes to a portrait of the deceased.
CM Expresses Solidarity with Bereaved MLA
During the emotional gathering, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his deep condolences to the grieving MLA. He conveyed his full solidarity and support to Shri Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha and his family during this difficult time.
The MLA, in turn, shared fond memories of his late spouse with the attending leaders and community members, recalling her contributions to social work and her role within the family.
A Gesture of Political and Personal Support
This visit underscores the personal connections that often underpin political relationships in Bihar's landscape. The presence of the state's top leadership, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, at a village-level condolence meeting highlights the importance placed on community engagement and support for fellow legislators.
The event served as a moment of shared grief, bridging the gap between high-level state administration and local constituency-level politics. It reaffirmed the support system within the ruling alliance during times of personal loss for its members.
