In a significant push to accelerate infrastructure and welfare projects, Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy has issued a clear directive to the district administration to ensure optimal utilisation of central government funds. The instructions were given during a crucial review meeting held in Tirupati.
Chairing the DISHA Committee Meeting
The Member of Parliament from Tirupati, serving as the chairman of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), presided over the meeting. He emphasised the need for a coordinated and urgent approach between elected representatives and administrative officials. The MP stressed that all ongoing development works across the district must be expedited on a "war footing."
Drawing Inspiration from CM Naidu's Model
To underline the potential for rapid progress, MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy highlighted the recent achievements of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He pointed out that the CM successfully convinced the Union government to approve highway projects worth a staggering Rs 1 lakh crore. Furthermore, Rs 15,000 crore from this allocation was sanctioned and released immediately by the centre.
"Taking a cue from the chief minister's efforts in speeding up development works, the elected representatives and the Nellore district administration should work in tandem," the MP underlined during the discussions.
Comprehensive Review of Key Projects
The DISHA meeting served as a platform for a detailed assessment of multiple critical sectors. Progress reports on the following areas were thoroughly examined:
- Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) projects
- National and State Highway development works
- Establishment of new industries in the region
- Implementation of the PM Viswakarma scheme
- Sanction and disbursement of Mudra loans
