SNDP Leader Vellappally Natesan Takes Aim at Opposition and Stresses Hindu Unity

SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan launched a sharp critique against opposition leader V D Satheesan during a media interaction in Alappuzha on Sunday. He dismissed Satheesan as inexperienced, comparing him to a flower that just bloomed yesterday.

Call for Unity Among Hindu Communities

Natesan emphasized the critical need for unity within the Hindu community. He stated that bringing together everyone from the Nayadi to Namboothiri communities is essential in today's era. The SNDP leader posed a provocative question about the potential impact of unity between NSS and SNDP, asking if it would create a tsunami in the state.

"Society is ready to welcome this unity with open arms," Natesan declared. "This unity mission is our priority, yet some label us as communal while aligning with actual communal forces."

Allegations Against Muslim League

Natesan directly blamed the Muslim League leadership for creating distance between SNDP and NSS. He claimed the League refused any compromise and is responsible for these divisive actions. According to Natesan, the UDF rule period brought only neglect to his organization.

The SNDP leader clarified his position regarding the Muslim community. "I hold no animosity toward Muslims," he asserted. "My statements in Malappuram were distorted to paint me as communal. I consider Muslim brothers as my own, but I oppose the communal nature of the Muslim League."

Defense Against Communalism Charges

Natesan noted that communal conflicts have decreased since the LDF government came to power. He pointed out that public criticism of Satheesan actually came from Kanthapuram, not from him.

The SNDP leader challenged the opposition leader's credentials. "If veteran Congress leaders like A K Antony, Ramesh Chennithala and K C Venugopal call me communal, I will accept their judgment," Natesan stated. "Satheesan lacks the standing to make such accusations. My family had assets long before he entered politics."

Criticism of Congress Party

Natesan clarified that his criticism isn't directed at the UDF alliance as a whole. He argued that the Congress party has lost its relevance in Kerala politics, and he bears no responsibility for this decline.

"The Congress consistently speaks against the Ezhava community," he alleged. "Those who attempted to undermine SNDP have ultimately harmed themselves. Today, Congress merely follows the Muslim League's tune in its political maneuvers."

Natesan's comments highlight ongoing tensions in Kerala's political landscape as he advocates for Hindu unity while criticizing both opposition figures and political rivals.
