Naidu Kicks Off Major Irrigation Project and Multiple Development Works in Tirupati

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched a significant irrigation initiative during his three-day visit to his native village, Naravaripalli, near Tirupati on Tuesday. He laid the foundation stone for the Neeva branch canal-Kalyani dam linkage project, which carries a budget of ₹126 crore.

Project to Benefit Farmers and Towns

This ambitious project aims to channel Krishna river waters to the Kalyani dam. Upon completion, it will provide assured irrigation water to farmers in the Chandragiri assembly constituency. Additionally, the project will supply drinking water to both Tirumala and Tirupati towns, addressing critical water needs in the region.

Multiple Inaugurations Mark the Visit

Naidu's visit featured several inaugurations and launches. He opened a skill development centre at Naravaripalli, established with an investment of ₹1.4 crore. The Chief Minister also unveiled a plaque for a new amenities complex at the SVRR Government General Hospital in Tirupati. This facility, costing ₹45 lakh, is designed for attendants of patients.

At the community health centre, Naidu launched the Sanjeevani project. He inaugurated a new road connecting the Seshachala Lingeswara Swamy temple to Bhimavaram and A Rangampeta. This road project involved an expenditure of ₹77 lakh. Furthermore, a 33/11 kV semi-indoor substation, built at a cost of ₹4.2 crore, was also inaugurated by the Chief Minister.

Festive Celebrations and Political Meetings

Earlier in the day, Naidu participated in Sankranti celebrations at Naravaripalli. He was accompanied by his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, and other family members. Several elected representatives from Chittoor and Tirupati districts met with the Chief Minister during his visit. They extended their festival greetings to him, marking a blend of development activities and cultural observance.
