Nagpur Police Commissioner CP Ravinder Singal on Thursday announced a major reshuffle in the city police department, appointing DCP (police headquarters) Deepak Aggarwal as the new DCP (crime branch). Aggarwal replaces Rahul Maknikar, who has been transferred from the crime branch to take over Aggarwal's previous role.
Key Appointments and Transfers
In a series of senior-level changes, Aditya Mirkhelkar has been given the charge of the traffic branch. Annapurna Singh has been appointed as the new DCP (zone 2), while outgoing DCP (zone 2) Nityanand Jha has been shifted to zone 5. These changes are part of a broader administrative overhaul aimed at improving operational efficiency.
Internal Transfers of Police Inspectors
Along with these senior-level appointments, the police commissionerate has also carried out internal transfers of 31 police inspectors. The transfers are effective immediately, and the officers have been directed to report to their new postings without delay.
These changes are expected to bring fresh perspectives to key departments and enhance law and order management in the city. The police department has not released an official statement regarding the reasons behind the reshuffle, but such transfers are common to optimize personnel deployment.
