Nagaur MP Beniwal Calls Cases Against Activists ‘False’

Nagaur MP and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) chief Hanuman Beniwal has strongly criticized the Rajasthan government, alleging that cases filed against his party activists are fabricated. The controversy stems from a protest on May 29 in Kuchaman City, where Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore was shown black flags and his convoy was allegedly obstructed.

Cash Rewards Announced for Accused

On Wednesday, the Didwana-Kuchaman district police announced cash rewards for four individuals wanted in connection with the incident. Superintendent of Police Pyarelal Shivran issued an order declaring a reward of Rs 5,000 for information leading to the arrest of Bhuraram Sheshma, a resident of Surendranagar in Kuchaman City. Additionally, rewards of Rs 2,100 each were announced for Ramniwas Kantwa of Hirani village, Mukesh Saran alias Modi of Rasal, and Dinesh Kudna of Ranasar.

Beniwal’s Allegations

Taking to social media platform X, Beniwal claimed that his party activists had gone to submit a memorandum through a democratic protest but were arrested and later booked in what he termed fabricated cases. “Not only that, but rewards were also announced for their capture, as if they were history-sheeter criminals. This raises serious questions about the ethics of your govt,” Beniwal wrote, directing his remarks towards Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Police Version of Events

Police officials stated that the four men are wanted in a case registered after the protest during Rathore’s visit. They are accused of displaying black flags and obstructing the movement of the BJP president’s vehicle. The police have appealed to the public to share information, assuring that informants’ identities would be kept confidential.

Administrative Action

The protest also led to administrative action the following day. The state government removed then Didwana-Kuchaman SP Gyan Chand Yadav amid criticism over security arrangements for Rathore’s programme. Additionally, the tehsildar was transferred out of the district and the local SHO was removed from his post.

Beniwal’s allegations have added a political dimension to the incident, with the RLP chief questioning the government’s motives and ethics. The case continues to develop as both sides present their narratives.
