The Nagaland Police has launched a major recruitment drive to fill 144 constable positions specifically allocated for the districts of Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland. The open recruitment process is scheduled to be conducted from January 7 to January 13, offering significant employment opportunities for eligible candidates in the region.

Transparent and Merit-Based Selection Process

Addressing the media at the Chumoukedima police complex, Dimapur Commissioner of Police Aotula T Imchen emphasized that the entire exercise will be carried out in a transparent, fair, and merit-based manner. She revealed that the department has received a total of 3,377 applications for the coveted posts. To ensure integrity, a six-member screening committee has been constituted to oversee the entire process and guarantee fairness at every single stage.

The recruitment commenced with document verification on January 5 and 6. This is followed by a series of rigorous tests, including physical standard tests, medical fitness examinations, and physical efficiency tests, all scheduled between January 7 and 13. Commissioner Imchen made it clear that each stage will be a disqualifying stage, meaning failure to meet the criteria at any point will result in the candidate's elimination from the process.

Stringent Measures to Ensure Fairness

Highlighting the commitment to transparency, Imchen stated that all components of the recruitment are being conducted under continuous CCTV surveillance. Standardized score sheets are being used to maintain uniformity in evaluation. Candidates must carry their admit cards and valid identity cards on their test day, and the department has warned that any instance of malpractice will lead to immediate disqualification.

To further bolster confidence in the process, a grievance redressal mechanism has been established. Representatives from various civil society organizations will be present as observers during the recruitment activities. The department is committed to selecting disciplined and capable individuals to serve the people of Nagaland, and the final results will be published publicly for full visibility.

The recruitment timeline indicates that the written examination will be conducted only after the successful completion of all physical and medical tests.
