MBBS Student from Kolkata Arrested in Rajasthan Teacher Recruitment Racket

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan made a significant arrest on Wednesday, taking into custody an MBBS student from Kolkata in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Rajasthan Public Service Commission's (RPSC) Senior Teacher Recruitment Exam-2022 dummy candidate racket. The accused has been identified as Prince Saini, aged 27, who was previously detained and brought to Jaipur for intensive questioning by authorities.

Formal Arrest Follows Interrogation

Officials confirmed that Prince Saini was formally arrested after a thorough interrogation process. This development comes just one day after the SOG arrested five other individuals on Tuesday, including three MBBS students and two government teachers, for their alleged involvement in appearing as dummy candidates in the high-stakes recruitment examination.

Previous Arrests and Rewards

The five individuals arrested earlier in this case have been identified as Mahesh Kumar Bishnoi, Mahipal Bishnoi, Sahi Ram, Hanumana Ram, and Niwas Kurada. Each of these accused persons carried a reward of Rs 10,000, indicating the seriousness with which authorities are pursuing this investigation into examination malpractice.

Examination Background and Cancellation

The RPSC conducted the Senior Teacher Recruitment Exam in December 2022, covering subjects including General Knowledge, Educational Psychology, and Science. However, the examination faced significant controversy when the General Knowledge and Educational Psychology papers were leaked, leading to the cancellation of the initial test. The recruitment process was subsequently reconducted in January 2023 after the paper leak scandal came to light.

Ongoing Investigation

The arrest of Prince Saini marks a continuation of the SOG's crackdown on the dummy candidate racket that has compromised the integrity of the teacher recruitment process in Rajasthan. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the network involved in this examination fraud case, which has raised serious concerns about the security and fairness of competitive recruitment examinations in the state.
