Patna: Union minister and HAM(S) founder Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, asserting that he has no moral authority to speak on law and order issues. Manjhi remarked that while crimes occur everywhere, the current administration has taken a tough stance, with police now shooting at criminals.
Allegations Against RJD
The Union minister alleged that members of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav's party are involved in the majority of criminal incidents in Bihar. Manjhi's statement comes amid a spate of police encounters with criminals in the state. He emphasized that the Bihar government, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, is dealing strictly with offenders.
“If one examines the NCRB data, it becomes evident that the majority of crimes, including land grabbing, murder, and atrocities against SC/ST communities, are being perpetrated by RJD workers. The RJD members need to mend their ways. The CM has already declared that criminals must either cease their criminal activities or leave Bihar,” Manjhi stated. He added, “If criminals do not reform, they will be killed.”
Reference to RJD Rule
In an oblique reference to the previous RJD regime, Manjhi said, “It’s not the time when criminals negotiated at the CM’s residence. Police are conducting ‘Operation Langda’ in Bihar, and criminals must either abandon their activities or leave the state. Otherwise, they will be killed.”
Manjhi's remarks highlight the escalating war of words between the ruling coalition and the opposition over crime control in Bihar. The state has witnessed a series of police encounters, with authorities claiming a zero-tolerance policy towards criminals.
