Mandya bar set on fire after liquor demand refused

A shocking incident of arson targeted a bar and restaurant in Karnataka's Mandya district after its owner refused to serve liquor to a group of unruly individuals. The attack, which also saw the owner's car being torched, was captured in chilling detail by the establishment's security cameras.

CCTV Captures Brazen Arson Attack

The violent episode unfolded on January 2 near the Murukanahalli Horticulture Farm in KR Pet taluk. According to police reports, three to four unidentified persons visited the bar owned by Paramesh of Agasarahalli. The group initially created a ruckus at the establishment.

Their visit took a dangerous turn when their demand for liquor was reportedly refused. The refusal triggered aggressive behaviour in the group. In a premeditated act, they are alleged to have poured petrol on the bar building and the owner's parked car.

Police Launch Manhunt for Accused

After dousing the premises with fuel, the miscreants set both the bar and the vehicle ablaze before fleeing the spot. The entire sequence of events, including the act of pouring petrol and igniting the fire, was recorded by the bar's CCTV camera system. This footage is now a crucial piece of evidence for the investigating teams.

Following the incident, the KR Pet Rural police swiftly registered a case and have initiated a thorough investigation. Police officials conducted an inspection of the fire-ravaged scene. Multiple police teams have been formed with the specific task of tracing and arresting the accused individuals, who are currently absconding.

Community Shock and Ongoing Investigation

The brazen attack has sent shockwaves through the local community in KR Pet. Such a violent response to a denied service highlights severe law and order concerns. The police manhunt is active and widespread, with authorities scrutinising the CCTV footage to identify the culprits.

The case remains a top priority for the Mandya district police as they work to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such incidents of public violence in the future.
