A man out on parole in a murder case was shot dead in broad daylight in Kasan village under the IMT Manesar police station area on Thursday morning, in what police say is a case of revenge killing.
The victim, identified as Sundar Fauji, was attacked by an assailant who opened rapid fire, killing him on the spot. According to sources, the suspect is the son of former village sarpanch Bahadur, who was killed in April 2018.
Investigations revealed that Sundar Fauji had been accused of murdering Bahadur in 2018 and was currently out on parole in connection with that case. On Thursday morning, the son of the deceased sarpanch tracked Fauji in Kasan village and shot him multiple times, avenging his father's death.
A police team from IMT Manesar station reached the spot soon after the incident and has launched an investigation. The area was cordoned off and forensic teams were called in to collect evidence.
Police said efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect, who fled the scene after carrying out the attack.
This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising questions about the effectiveness of the parole system and the cycle of violence in the region. Authorities have assured that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure justice and prevent further retaliation.
