Voting for the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections wrapped up on Thursday with Mumbai experiencing a generally calm atmosphere. The polling process began at 7:30 AM and continued throughout the day without major disruptions.
Police Confirm Peaceful Election Process
Joint Commissioner of Police Satyanarayan Chaudhary stated that the election remained peaceful across the city. He emphasized that no significant incidents related to the polls occurred during voting hours.
"The election process remained peaceful. There was no incident related to the poll in the city. It was a peaceful election," Chaudhary told reporters.
Minor Clashes Reported at Some Polling Booths
Despite the overall calm, police acknowledged minor verbal altercations between workers of rival political parties. These incidents happened at a few polling booths but did not escalate into physical violence.
More than 28,000 police personnel were deployed across Mumbai to maintain law and order. Their presence helped ensure smooth voting procedures at all polling stations.
Senior Police Officials Monitor Security Arrangements
Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti personally visited multiple locations to review security measures. He toured several areas including:

- Malad
- D N Nagar in Andheri West
- Dharavi
During his inspections, Bharti examined sensitive locations and interacted with police personnel on duty. His visits aimed to ensure proper security protocols were followed throughout the election process.
The police department's extensive preparations contributed significantly to the peaceful conduct of voting. Their coordinated efforts prevented any major disturbances from occurring during this important civic election.
