KTR Warns Congress Against District Reorganization, Accuses Govt of Stalling Development
KTR Warns Congress Against District Reorganization in Telangana

BRS Leader Issues Strong Warning Over District Reorganization Plans

BRS working president KT Rama Rao delivered a sharp rebuke to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas on Monday. He firmly dismissed their statements labeling the previous government's district reorganization as unscientific. Speaking at a public meeting in Mahbubnagar, KTR declared his party would not stay silent if the current administration attempted to abolish even a single district.

Threat of Public Revolt and Political Downfall

"People will revolt, and the downfall of the Congress will begin if any such move is taken," KTR stated emphatically. He alleged the government's desire to reduce the number of districts stemmed from an inability to tolerate the visible development and benefits reaching citizens under the previous BRS regime.

He explained the rationale behind the earlier administrative changes. BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao undertook administrative decentralisation to bring governance and development closer to the people, KTR said. This strategic move involved:

  • Establishing new mandals and revenue divisions.
  • Converting tandas into village panchayats.
  • Creating smaller, more accessible districts where collectors and Superintendents of Police could work directly among the populace.

Allegations of Deliberate Project Delays

KTR shifted his criticism to specific development projects. He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of intentionally sidelining the crucial Palamuru-Rangareddy irrigation project. "Revanth Reddy, who claims to be a son of Mahabubnagar, is deliberately obstructing the Palamuru-Rangareddy project," he charged.

He highlighted the project's progress, noting that 90% of the work was completed at a cost of Rs 30,000 crore. Despite this massive investment, the Congress government is deliberately stalling the remaining 10% of the work, KTR alleged. He connected this to broader agricultural issues, questioning the government's credibility. "Who would believe the Congress government's promise to make Mahabubnagar prosperous when it cannot even supply urea bags to farmers?" he asked.

Questioning Industrial Exodus and Development Stagnation

The BRS leader raised further concerns about economic development in the region. He pointed to an exodus of industries that had been brought to Palamuru during the BRS government's term. KTR questioned why these industries had left and whether the Congress had attracted even a single new industry to Mahabubnagar in the past two years.

He also mentioned the sidelining of an IT tower initiative started by the previous government. KTR framed the Congress's electoral victory as based on false promises. He alleged there has been no tangible development even after two years in power, contrasting this with the BRS's record of enabling migrant workers to return home after providing water for lakhs of acres of farmland.

Concluding with a political forecast, KTR expressed confidence in the public's support. He said people are ready to elect the BRS once again, signaling his party's preparation for future electoral battles in Telangana.
