Kshatriya Community Stages Massive Gathering in Alwar, Presents Demands to Authorities
Sunday witnessed a historic convergence of the Kshatriya community in the Khedli area of Alwar district, as the Eastern Rajasthan Kshatriya Mahasamagam drew thousands of participants from across nearly 10 districts. The event, marked by unity and determination, saw representation from Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Dausa, Jaipur, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu, highlighting the widespread engagement of the community in Eastern Rajasthan.
Unified Demands for Political Representation and Socio-Economic Upliftment
Members hailing from 39 assembly constituencies came together with a clear agenda, advocating for their core demands centered on political representation, educational and employment opportunities, and revisions to the Economic Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation policy. The Mahasamagam served as a powerful platform for the community to collectively voice their aspirations and address long-standing grievances.
Among the primary demands, participants strongly called for an increase in political representation for the Kshatriya community within the political landscape of Eastern Rajasthan. They emphasized that enhanced political clout is crucial for ensuring their voices are heard in policy-making processes that affect their socio-economic status.
Focus on Education, Employment, and Reservation Reforms
The gathering underscored the urgent need for an education and employment revolution aimed at uplifting the community's societal standing. Participants argued that access to quality education and better job opportunities are fundamental to breaking cycles of disadvantage and fostering sustainable progress.
In a significant proposal, the community demanded a revision of the EWS reservation quota, seeking an increase from the current 10% to 20%. This demand reflects their push for greater inclusivity and support for economically weaker sections within their ranks, aligning with broader discussions on social justice and equity in India.
March to Authorities and Key Address by Community Leader
During the event, participants engaged in a symbolic foot march to the Khedli sub-tehsil office, where they submitted a detailed memorandum outlining their demands to the sub-divisional officer. This direct approach highlighted their commitment to seeking official acknowledgment and action on their issues.
Addressing the gathering under the banner of the Samajik Ekta Manch, chief guest Meghraj Singh Royal, chairman of the United Global Peace Foundation, delivered a compelling speech. He emphasized that education and employment serve as the bedrock for community progress, urging collective efforts to achieve these goals. His address resonated with the crowd, reinforcing the event's themes of unity and forward-looking advocacy.
The Mahasamagam not only showcased the solidarity of the Kshatriya community but also set the stage for ongoing dialogue and potential policy interventions in Eastern Rajasthan.
