Speaking after laying the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth Rs 2.9 crore and chairing a public grievance meeting on Saturday, Minister Bangarappa detailed the comprehensive plans for the temple's enhancement. The planned improvements include several crucial infrastructure upgrades:
- Construction of new exit stairs with roofing to complement the existing entrance
- Urgent repairs to the temple's leaking roof
- Restoration of damaged windows
Expanding Facilities for Festival Crowds
Recognizing the substantial influx of devotees during festival periods, the government has formulated an ambitious plan to develop 10 acres of land currently under the forest department's jurisdiction. This expansion will include:
- Dormitories for overnight stays
- Modern toilet facilities
- Adequate parking areas
Work on these essential amenities will commence promptly after receiving the necessary clearance from the forest department, ensuring that the temple can comfortably accommodate the growing number of visitors.
Tourism Potential of Soraba Taluk
Minister Bangarappa emphasized the significant tourism potential of the region during his announcement. He noted that Soraba taluk, which features prominent attractions including Gudavi, Kotipura, Chandragutti, and Banavasi, represents a vital component of the district's 64 identified tourist spots.
