Traffic Management Plan for Eid Prayers

Following the lunar sighting on Friday, it has been confirmed that Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be held at the Eidgah in Bajaria. To facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure safety, the Kanpur Police have announced a series of traffic diversions that will be in effect from 6:00 am until the conclusion of the prayers.

The detailed traffic plan includes the following key diversions:

  • Vehicles approaching from Lal Imli intersection will be prohibited from proceeding towards Bakarmandi slope and Bajarhia intersection from Colonelganj intersection (Chunniganj intersection). They will be diverted at Colonelganj intersection.
  • Traffic from Gol intersection and Hallet Hospital will not be allowed to move towards Eidgah intersection from Benajhabar tri-junction. Instead, vehicles will be redirected via Chandni Nursing Home.
  • Vehicles coming from Jarib Chowki (P-Road) will be stopped from proceeding towards Bajaria intersection from Rambagh intersection, with diversions implemented at Rambagh intersection.
  • Traffic originating from 80 Feet Road will be prevented from moving towards Eidgah intersection from Brahmanagar intersection. These vehicles will be directed to turn right at Brahmanagar intersection and proceed towards their destination via Ram Bagh tri-junction.
  • Vehicles arriving from Halim College intersection (Nala Road) will not be permitted to proceed towards Bajaria police station intersection. They may continue towards their destination by turning left from Sisamau Bara intersection.
  • Traffic coming from Ashok Nagar intersection intending to reach Eidgah intersection via Harshnagar tri-junction may proceed by turning left from Harshnagar tri-junction via Virendra Swaroop Park tri-junction.

Designated Parking Areas for Worshippers

To accommodate the large number of worshippers expected for the Eid prayers, the police have designated specific parking areas:

  1. Namazis arriving from Lal Imli intersection may park their two-wheelers and four-wheelers on both sides of the road on the route to Shani Dev Temple tri-junction from Chunniganj intersection.
  2. Those coming from Jarib Chowki (P-Road) may park their vehicles on both sides of the road on P-Road before reaching Ram Bagh tri-junction.

These measures are part of a coordinated effort by the Kanpur Police to ensure that the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations are conducted smoothly, with minimal disruption to daily life while prioritizing public safety. The department urges all residents and visitors to cooperate with traffic personnel and follow the announced diversions for a hassle-free festive experience.
