In a statement made in Hukkeri on Wednesday, District Minister Satish Jarkiholi addressed speculation of internal discord within the Congress party, asserting that despite differences on organizational matters, he and former minister AB Patil remain united when it comes to party campaigns. "We may differ on matters related to organisations and institutions, but when it comes to the party, AB Patil and I stand united," Jarkiholi declared, highlighting a collaborative approach during election periods under the party symbol.

Shifting focus to governance issues, Jarkiholi revealed that stringent measures are being implemented to combat illegal land grabbing, particularly in Hukkeri taluk where cases have surged. Officials have been directed to initiate strong legal action against land grabbers who allegedly forge Aadhaar cards to occupy properties illegally. He emphasized that such activities by land mafia groups are under close monitoring across the district to ensure they are effectively curbed, with similar enforcement underway in other areas.

When questioned about the ongoing demand for a Dalit chief minister, Jarkiholi cautioned against unnecessary complications, stating, "The decision is not in our hands." Regarding reports that 25 MLAs have written letters seeking ministerial berths, he downplayed the issue, noting that such aspirations are normal in politics. "If 25 MLAs seek positions, there is nothing wrong. Opportunities may be given based on merit. No one said it is impossible," he remarked, suggesting a merit-based approach to appointments.

Addressing student protests over delays in government recruitment, Jarkiholi urged that the matter not be politicized as a BJP–Congress dispute. He confirmed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has already convened a meeting to resolve the issue, indicating proactive steps by the administration to address public grievances.
