HP CM Sukhu Launches Rs 79.60 Crore Development Projects in Kangra

In a significant boost to infrastructure development in the region, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for eight crucial development projects with a combined worth of Rs 79.60 crore at Pragpur in the Jaswan-Pragpur assembly constituency of Kangra district on Sunday.

Major Inaugurations Worth Crores

The Chief Minister personally inaugurated several completed projects that are set to enhance public services and administrative efficiency in the area. These include the Model Career Centre at Kasba Kotla, which has been constructed at a substantial cost of Rs 6.14 crore to provide career guidance and employment services to local residents.

Key Administrative and Educational Facilities

Other inaugurated facilities include the Rs 78-lakh treasury office building at Rakkar, designed to streamline financial transactions and public service delivery. For educational infrastructure, Sukhu inaugurated the Rs 1.04-crore additional accommodation at Government Senior Secondary School in Saleti, addressing the growing needs of students and staff.

The water resources department received a significant boost with the inauguration of the Rs 1.74-crore office building for the newly created division of the Jal Shakti Vibhag in Jaswan-Pragpur, which will enhance water management and distribution capabilities in the region.

Law Enforcement Infrastructure Enhancement

Strengthening law enforcement infrastructure, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) office at Dadasiba along with police stations at Dadasiba, Sansarpur Main, and Sansarpur Terrace. These facilities are expected to improve policing efficiency and public safety across multiple locations.

Foundation Stones for Future Development

Looking toward future infrastructure development, Sukhu laid foundation stones for several ambitious projects that promise to transform connectivity and civic amenities in the area.

Connectivity and Heritage Preservation

A major connectivity project includes the link road from Pirsaluhi in Kangra to Kitpal in Hamirpur, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 9.60 crore to improve inter-district transportation. For heritage conservation and sanitation, the Rs 25.16-crore sewerage scheme for the heritage villages of Garli and Pragpur in Pragpur tehsil aims to preserve these historical settlements while providing modern sanitation facilities.

Water Management and Power Infrastructure

Water resource management received attention with the Rs 16.12-crore check dam and dykes project on various nullahs and khads in the Rakkar Jal Shakti Vibhag subdivision. Additionally, power infrastructure will be upgraded through the Rs 18.96-crore system improvement scheme for constructing the 33/11 KV GIS sub-station at Kasba Kota under the electric sub-division of Sansarpur Terrace in Kangra district.

These comprehensive development initiatives, spanning career services, education, water management, law enforcement, connectivity, heritage preservation, and power infrastructure, represent a holistic approach to regional development under the current state government's administration.
