In a significant push for infrastructure development in the Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dedicated a slew of projects with a cumulative worth of approximately Rs 69 crore to the people of the Ghumarwin assembly constituency on Wednesday. The Chief Minister's one-day visit was marked by the inauguration of completed works and the initiation of new ones, aiming to enhance connectivity, safety, and civic amenities in the region.
Inaugurated Projects Enhance Security and Water Management
During his tour, CM Sukhu officially opened two key facilities for public use. The first was the new Ghumarwin police station, a modern structure built with an investment of Rs 4.82 crore. This facility is expected to significantly improve law enforcement and public safety services for the local community.
The second inaugurated project was a check dam and dyke constructed over the Seer Khad. Built at a cost of Rs 3.67 crore, this infrastructure is crucial for water conservation, flood control, and supporting local agriculture, addressing long-standing concerns of the residents.
Foundation Stones Laid for Future Growth
Looking towards future development, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for five major projects. A highlight is a multi-purpose sports complex planned near the Tikkari Helipad in Ghumarwin, with an estimated cost of Rs 6.08 crore. This complex promises to provide modern sports facilities for the youth.
To support police personnel, family quarters will be constructed within the premises of the new Ghumarwin police station at a cost of Rs 6 crore. Furthermore, major connectivity upgrades were initiated, including:
- The upgrade of the 7-km-long Amarpur-Hadsar-Dahad-Jaman-Ghumarwin road (Rs 6.13 crore).
- The upgrade of the 31-km-long Ghumarwin-Barthin-Shah Talai road (Rs 34.95 crore).
- The construction of a 68-metre span bridge over the Seer Khad (Rs 6.80 crore).

Upon his arrival in Ghumarwin, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was warmly welcomed by local residents. He took the time to interact with people at various locations, directly listening to their grievances and understanding their needs. This hands-on approach underscored the government's focus on grassroots-level development and responsive governance.
The dedication of these projects, cumulatively valued at around Rs 69 crore, marks a substantial investment in the Ghumarwin region's future.
