Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a total of 14 significant development projects, collectively valued at approximately Rs 76 crore, during his one-day tour of the Sulah Assembly constituency in Kangra district. This major infrastructure push underscores the state government's commitment to enhancing connectivity, healthcare, and public amenities in the region.

Key Infrastructure and Healthcare Inaugurations

Among the headline projects, the Chief Minister inaugurated a newly upgraded Sulah tehsil, marking a milestone in administrative efficiency for the area. He also dedicated two crucial bridges to the public: a double-lane bridge over Moal Khad on the Hamirpur–Sujanpur–Thural–Maranda road, constructed at a cost of Rs 12.5 crore, and another bridge across Moal Khad on the Malag–Malaha link road, built with an outlay of Rs 3.5 crore. These bridges are expected to significantly improve transportation and reduce travel times for local residents.

Healthcare and Veterinary Facilities Boost

In a boost to healthcare infrastructure, CM Sukhu inaugurated the combined office building at Dheera, completed with an investment of Rs 10.82 crore, and dedicated the Rs 5.02-crore Community Health Centre building at Dheera to the people. Additionally, he inaugurated several health sub-centre buildings, including those at Kharul (Rs 16 lakh), Bhoda (Rs 15 lakh), and Kona (Rs 25 lakh). For animal healthcare, he inaugurated a Rs 89-lakh veterinary hospital building at Sulah and a Rs 49-lakh veterinary dispensary building at Moondhi, enhancing veterinary services in the constituency.

Education and Water Supply Enhancements

The development spree extended to education and water supply sectors. The Chief Minister inaugurated additional accommodation worth Rs 50 lakh at Government High School, Bhattu Samula, aimed at improving educational facilities. He also dedicated improvement works costing Rs 5.45 crore for the distribution system of WSS Jharet Rajhoon and WSS Prour Kharot in Palampur tehsil, along with the Rs 31.6 crore Parour and other multi-village group piped water supply scheme. This scheme covers parts of Bhawarna and Bhedu Mahadev blocks, and Ghaloon (Malnoon), under the Sulah constituency, promising better water access for numerous villages.

Foundation Stones Laid for Future Projects

Looking ahead, CM Sukhu laid foundation stones for two key projects: a Rs 2.8 crore bridge over Moal Khad on the Gallu Bhoda–Shivnagar road and a Rs 2 crore additional complex at Chaudhary Tara Chand Government Senior Secondary School, Gaggal, in Dheera tehsil. These initiatives are set to further bolster infrastructure and educational resources in the region, aligning with the government's broader development agenda.

This comprehensive project inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony highlights the state's focused efforts on rural and regional development, aiming to uplift the quality of life for residents in Kangra district through enhanced public services and connectivity.
