The Haryana government has disbursed a significant compensation package of Rs 116.16 crore to farmers across the state who suffered crop losses due to heavy rains and waterlogging during the 2025 Kharif season. The announcement was made in the state assembly by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Vipul Goel.
Portal for Claims and Verification Process
Responding to a query raised by Nuh MLA, Aftab Ahmed, Minister Goel detailed the relief process. He stated that crop damage in 2025 was confined to the Kharif season. Following assessments and recommendations from Deputy Commissioners, the state launched the e-Kshatipurti portal on August 14 to allow affected cultivators to file for compensation. The portal remained accessible for all state villages until September 15.
After a thorough verification of the submitted claims, the government approved financial aid for crop damage assessed between 25% to 100% over a total area of 1,20,380 acres. The final compensation amount was released on December 10, directly benefiting 55,076 farmers throughout Haryana.
District-Wise Breakdown of Compensation
The minister provided a district-wise annexure with details of beneficiaries, damaged area, and funds released. Charkhi Dadri district received the highest compensation of Rs 23.54 crore for damages spread across more than 25,000 acres. It was followed by Hisar (Rs 17.81 crore) and Bhiwani (Rs 12.14 crore).
Other major beneficiary districts included Rohtak, Fatehabad, Sirsa, and Jhajjar. Districts like Panchkula, Gurugram, and Panipat received comparatively smaller amounts, reflecting the limited extent of crop damage in those regions.
Government's Commitment to Timely Farmer Relief
Emphasizing the state's proactive approach, Minister Vipul Goel reiterated the government's commitment to providing timely relief to farmers impacted by natural calamities. He assured the assembly that the administration continues to closely monitor all crop loss incidents to ensure swift action and support.
The compensation initiative underscores the state's focus on mitigating agricultural distress and supporting the farming community after unpredictable weather events disrupted the Kharif harvest.
