Haryana Chief Minister Calls for Upholding Vidhan Sabha's Dignity
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized on Monday that the Vidhan Sabha stands as the supreme democratic forum, where every elected representative must be accorded due respect. He stressed that preserving the sanctity and dignity of the House is paramount at all times.
CM's Remarks on Assembly Conduct
Saini made these comments while interacting with mediapersons after the budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh. Responding to questions regarding conduct in the assembly, he urged legislators to maintain decorum. The CM acknowledged that criticism and political remarks are integral to democratic functioning but cautioned that they should not hurt anyone's sentiments. All are elected representatives and deserve respect, he reiterated.
Criticism of Congress and Employment Initiatives
In response to another query, Saini accused the Congress of issuing misleading statements due to a lack of substantive issues. He asserted that the government is prepared for discussions on jobs, but emphasized that the opposition must also remain present in the House and listen attentively.
Furthermore, Saini highlighted historical context, noting that even during the Congress regime, the name of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) was changed multiple times. He detailed the current government's efforts under the Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G), which guarantees 125 days of employment. The scope of work has been expanded, and workers across the country have welcomed this decision, he added.
The CM's statements underscore a commitment to fostering a respectful and productive legislative environment while advancing employment policies for Haryana's development.
