Haryana Chief Minister Outlines Vision for Upcoming 2026-27 State Budget

In a significant announcement from Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has declared that the state's forthcoming budget for the fiscal year 2026–27 will be meticulously crafted to mirror the needs, trust, and future aspirations of its residents. Emphasizing a people-centric approach, Saini stated that the government's foremost priority is to prepare a budget that not only delivers visible development on the ground but also ensures that the benefits of various schemes reach the people directly and effectively.

Budget to Focus on Public Expectations and Societal Welfare

The Chief Minister highlighted that the budget will be centred on public expectations and the welfare of all sections of society. To achieve this, special emphasis is being laid on enhancing administrative efficiency, fostering technological innovation, and ensuring better utilisation of resources. This strategic focus aims to streamline governance and maximize the impact of public spending, thereby addressing the core concerns of Haryana's citizens.

Review of Previous Budget Implementation and Ministerial Presence

During a high-level meeting, the implementation status of announcements and schemes made in last year's budget was thoroughly reviewed. The meeting saw the presence of key ministers, including Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel, Cooperation Minister Dr Arvind Sharma, Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa, Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Choudhry, Health Minister Arti Singh Rao, and Minister of State for Sports Gaurav Gautam. Their collective involvement underscores the government's commitment to a coordinated and effective budgetary process.

Mandate for PAN Details in High-Value Property Registrations

In a related development, the Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Department has issued a directive to all deputy commissioners across the state. They are required to ensure the immediate submission of pending PAN details in high-value property registration cases. This move comes in response to a request from the Income Tax Department, which has sought PAN information for buyers and sellers involved in property deeds exceeding Rs 30 lakh between the financial years 2019-20 and 2024-25.

Tehsildars have been specifically instructed to verify the consolidated data available on the Web-HALRIS portal and urgently furnish any missing PAN details to the Income Tax Department. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and compliance in property transactions, aligning with broader efforts to curb tax evasion and ensure fiscal accountability.

Government's Commitment to Public Service and Accountability

Chief Minister Saini reiterated that the state government is working diligently in the interest of the people. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and officers, urging them to work together with a spirit of public service. Saini emphasized that the government is accountable to the people, and therefore, all announcements and programmes included in the budget must be implemented on the ground within the stipulated time frame. This commitment reflects a broader vision to foster trust and deliver tangible results for the residents of Haryana.

As the state prepares for its 2026-27 budget, these announcements signal a focused approach towards inclusive growth, efficient governance, and robust financial management, setting the stage for a transformative fiscal year.
