Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Declares Hansi as State's 23rd District
Hansi to Become Haryana's 23rd District

In a significant administrative announcement, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared on Tuesday that the historic town of Hansi will be officially recognized as the state's 23rd district. The declaration was made during a large development rally in Hansi, where the CM stated that the formal government notification would be issued within a week.

A Long-Awaited District Status

The announcement was met with loud applause and celebratory slogans from the gathered crowd. Chief Minister Saini explained that once the notification is published, Hansi will attain full district status from a revenue and administrative perspective. This move is seen as a major step in decentralizing governance and accelerating local development.

Prior to the announcement, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for three key development projects in Hansi with a combined worth of Rs 77.30 crore. He emphasized the government's commitment to the region's progress.

Tribute to Historical Legacy and Development Claims

Paying homage to the area's rich past, Saini described Hansi as a "land of heroes" with a legacy of sacrifice and patriotism. He recalled its crucial role in the First War of Independence in 1857, noting that the Lal Sadak (red road) stands as a testament to the brutal repression of freedom fighters by British forces.

The Chief Minister also delved into deeper history, mentioning that Hansi was anciently known as Asi and Asigarh and served as the capital of the Sutlej region during the reign of Emperor Harsha.

On the development front, Saini presented a comparative analysis. He claimed that over the past 11 years, the state government has executed development works worth Rs 1,080 crore in the Hansi Assembly constituency. In contrast, he stated that only Rs 253 crore was spent during the previous Congress regime. He further asserted that the "double-engine government" has already fulfilled 54 out of 217 promises from its last Assembly election manifesto within just one year.

Focus on Farmers and Political Jabs

Addressing agricultural welfare, the Chief Minister highlighted that the government is procuring crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP). He revealed that approximately Rs 1.64 lakh crore has been transferred directly into the accounts of about 1.2 crore farmers for crop procurement so far.

Additionally, he stated that over the last 11 years, Rs 15,448 crore has been disbursed to farmers as compensation for crop losses and under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. He accused the previous Congress government of leaving Rs 269 crore in pending compensation during its tenure, which the BJP government cleared after coming to power in 2015.

The rally also served as a platform for political criticism. Chief Minister Saini accused the Congress party of spreading "false propaganda" about vote theft to regain political relevance. He referenced historical events like the Emergency and alleged instances of booth capturing to criticize the party's record. He also countered Congress's stance on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, clarifying that such revisions are a routine process conducted multiple times since 1952.

The event saw the presence of several prominent leaders, including rally coordinator and Hansi MLA Vinod Bhyana, deputy speaker Krishna Middha, BJP state president Mohanlal Baroli, cabinet minister Ranbir Singh, Hisar MLA Savitri Jindal, and Safidon MLA Ramkumar Gautam.
